What does nutritional balance mean?
OSM All-Terrain Nutrition has been recognised and patented as a world-first in nutritional balance. It is designed to deliver an equal percentage of the daily intake values and recommended dietary intake for energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fibre, 10 vitamins and 6 minerals. Therefore, each serve contains a balance of macronutrients, vitamins and minerals.
Is OSM All-Terrain Nutrition better than the new Everyday Nutrition range?
They are both nutritionally balanced products and complement each other. You can choose which one best suits your needs, depending what you are up to. OSM Everyday Nutrition is more for everyday snacking. It has high protein, high fibre and less sugar, with seven vitamins and three minerals. OSM All-Terrain Nutrition is balanced across all key macronutrients and has 10 vitamins and six minerals. It can also be used as a meal replacement, so offers the ultimate in smart sustenance to fuel all your activities and adventures, from multisport to tramping and camping.
Is OSM All-Terrain Nutrition suitable for children?
The range would be suitable for children over three as part of a varied diet. The small All-Terrain Nutrition Bites are a great size for lunchboxes, or for an occasional snack. We do not recommend for children under three as they have different nutritional needs to older children and adults.
Is OSM All-Terrain Nutrition a meal replacement product?
Yes, OSM is a formulated meal replacement. Two Bars or four Bites gives you 1/3 of your daily intake and recommended dietary intake of energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fibre, 10 vitamins and 6 minerals. As it provides nutritional balance in every serve, OSM ATN is great for snacking.
It is important to maintain a healthy, varied and balanced diet so it should not to be used as a total diet replacement.
It appears to be high in sugar and fat, why is that?
The patented recipe is designed to deliver an equal percentage of the daily intake values and recommended dietary intake for energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats and fibre, 10 vitamins and 6 minerals. It is important to include all nutrients, including sugar and fats, as part of a healthy balanced diet.
What flavours are there?
Cranberry with Blackcurrant, Apricot with Manuka Honey, Chocolate with Manuka Honey and Almond with Vanilla.
Does All-Terrain Nutrition contain any artificial sweeteners?
No, the sweetness comes from dried fruit, Manuka honey and brown rice syrup.
Does it contain any artificial colours or flavours?
No.
Does it contain any added colours?
Apricot with Manuka Honey has a very small amount of natural caramel colour.
Are there added preservatives?
No, we don’t add preservatives. However, the dried apricots used in Apricot with Manuka Honey contain an antioxidant called sulphur dioxide (220). Dried apricots nearly always contain this as a preservative so that they stay their natural apricot colour.
What are the vitamins and minerals?
10 vitamins: Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Niacin, Folate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Vitamin E. Six minerals: Calcium, Iodine, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Zinc.
Does All-Terrain Nutrition contain nuts?
Cranberry with Blackcurrant, Apricot with Manuka Honey and Chocolate with Manuka Honey don’t contain nuts as an ingredient. However, they are made in a facility where nuts are used in other products so, while every step is taken to prevent crossover, it is possible that nut traces might be present. Almond with Vanilla contains tree nuts and is made in a facility where peanuts may be used so, while every step is taken to prevent crossover, it is possible that traces of peanuts might also be present.
Is it egg free?
Cranberry with Blackcurrant, Apricot with Manuka Honey and Almond with Vanilla are dairy free. However, they are made in a facility where dairy is used in other products so, while every step is taken to prevent crossover, it is possible that dairy traces might be present.
Chocolate with Manuka Honey does contain dairy because it is made with real milk chocolate.
Is it gluten-free?
No, the range contains gluten-containing ingredients such as rolled oats and wheat flakes.
Is it vegan?
No, due to the Manuka Honey. The Chocolate with Manuka Honey flavour also contains real milk chocolate.
What’s the shelf life?
85 days from production (about three months). This is clearly marked on pack.
Where is it made?
At our bakery in Christchurch.
It is okay to freeze?
Yes, it can be frozen for up to six months. Once defrosted, it is best eaten within a month for optimum flavour.
